It’s fun to dream and imagine another way of life.
I imagine being a mermaid since I love to swim. I spent my summers at our local swimming pool when I was younger. I especially loved the beach vacations we took as a family. I loved playing in the ocean waves, scouring the sand for a unique or pretty seashell. I love all things ocean, beach and sand.
I’ve always been intrigued with mermaids. I am mesmerized watching them on the Internet in the live aquariums or on TV. They are beautiful, mysterious, graceful, quiet and happy. I think it would be quite the life, as a mermaid.
Some day’s life is hard. A loved one having health issues, financial issues that need to be resolved, relationship problems from a silly misunderstanding and the list goes on and on. From major issues to the everyday life issues that just get in our way.
I count my blessings everyday but on the hard days I sometimes want to escape. To be a mermaid would be ideal. Swimming gracefully in the depths of the sea with the beautiful, colorful fishes. Away from problems. Away from people.
But God didn’t make me a mermaid. I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. I want to try my best in these roles. These roles He planned for me long ago. He promises to be with me always and never leave me. He promises to help in the hard times. With the difficult life situations.
When I need to escape, I can’t go to the depths of the sea but I can take a walk, take a ride, go for a swim (in the summer) or just close my eyes and think of a happy place. Think of a Father who loves me so much and cares more than we can imagine.
He will give you the strength for all you need.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
Won’t you ask Him today to help you in the hard times and trust Him?
He has never let me down. He will never let you down either.
Father, I thank you that you love us so much and only want the best for us. Life is hard at times and we need you to help us get through these hard times. Life is so uncertain. Help us to trust you. In Jesus Name. Amen
