Welcome to my little online corner! I’m so glad you are here!
I’m Barbara Ann, a simple girl, enjoying country life in Ohio with my hard-working husband, John and our cute, little Cocker Spaniel, Lady. I am also a Christ follower, cancer survivor, birdwatcher, and introvert. I love people but also value my quiet alone times. My husband and I moved to Arizona in 1989, seeking sunshine year round. I never, ever thought we would move back to Ohio and last year we did. I wrote about our journey, in seven parts, on the blog, if you’d like to read it here: Moving On. My interests are reading, writing, music, gardening, simplifying life, spending time with family and friends.
Imagine sitting on a beautiful sandy beach, looking out at the waves as they wash up on the shore. The sun is shining, not too hot, but just enough to give you that sun kissed glow on your skin. You watch the seagulls swooping down to grab a fish. You watch little children with their buckets and shovels, working to build a big sand castle. Life is good. You wish you could stay here or come more often because it is so relaxing, beautiful and refreshing.
Back to reality. Life can be hard, some days more than others. I have been a hopeless mess. Infertility was the hardest to endure. We’ve also been separated and close to divorce. We’ve lost loved ones, jobs and money. I’m still a mess but a happy mess but no longer hopeless. John and I have been married over 30 years and still have communication problems! I occasionally have a moment of sadness being childless. But God’s Grace is true and real in my life and He is my Hope that keeps me moving forward. There is Hope when we are anchored in Him. Hebrews 6:19
What you’ll find here and why I write
Journaling has been a way of therapy when going through the hard times. Several years ago I became interested in starting a blog, did some research and joined Compel Training with Proverbs 31 Ministries. I discovered I enjoy writing and wanted to learn more about the craft. Writing here on the blog keeps me accountable, and a place to share what I’ve learned. My prayer is that my words encourage, inspire, and give someone Hope. I love words and I love Jesus and my desire is to share both. I enjoy sharing life lessons and Biblical truths, along with some book reviews, recipes and photos of our beautiful country.
