September 24, 2009 ~ I’m so very grateful for my friends to share concerns with and who pray with me.
March 30, 2010 ~ I’m grateful for the experiences I have had, the good and the bad. They make me who I am today and help me make wise decisions for tomorrow.
August 20, 2010 ~ My life is far from perfect but I’m grateful for the life I’ve made for myself and the life God has blessed me with. There is much I do not have but I’m so grateful for all I do have. Peace. Joy. Eternal life. Health. Paid bills. A Great husband and my sweet puppy. And so much more!
These are a few entries from my Grateful Journal I started many years ago. On the not-so-grateful days, my journal has helped me get out of the blahs. It reminds me of all that I have, who I have, and how truly grateful life can be.
Being grateful is a choice.
Being grateful is an attitude.
Being grateful is joy inside.
Being grateful just makes life better somehow.
It’s possible to have joy when life throws the hard stuff at you. It’s possible with an attitude of gratitude.
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” ― Charles R. Swindoll
- I wasn’t grateful when I had cancer but I was grateful for the support from family and friends, caring doctors, and a husband who really showed deep compassion and love to me that drew us so much closer.
- I wasn’t grateful for the loss of my mom but I am grateful for the years I did have with her and the wonderful memories and lessons she has taught me.
- Should I ever move to where it’s cold, I will try hard to find something to be grateful for despite the weather that I really, really do not like.
Earlier this year I read Ann Voskamp’s book, One Thousand Gifts. Incredible book! From the inside cover, “A beautifully practical guide to living a life of joy. Voskamp discovered in giving thanks for the life she already had, she found the life she’d always wanted. I started my list of 1000 Gifts and it has changed my thinking. I want to see the good around me and focus on the positive more, to have an attitude of gratitude. Most of my entries are simple ones because I’m a simple girl. I appreciate the gifts of, a happy husband, puppy kisses, music, love to read, quietness, sweet sleep, words, walks, faithful friends, sister love, His grace.
Do you have a grateful journal? I would recommend starting one if not. It will change your perspective if you dare to let it.
Blessings to you, my friends. I am grateful for each one of you who follow my blog or have followed my Facebook page. Thank you.
