Do you love to read? Do you love to write?
You can do both for free.
Today’s blog post is to share my experience of receiving free books for my review.
My book reviews are listed under the Categories at the right sidebar and clicking Book Reviews in the drop-down menu.
Publishers and Authors love reviews. Most publishers require you have a blog to post your review on. It’s easy to set up a blog on WordPress or Google. Here’s a post that can help get you started: Starting a Blog
Below are some highlights of the requirements, once you are registered and approved. I recommend reading the FAQ on the publisher website for more information. Books are usually available in print or ebook.
Baker Publishing Group – They have several divisions. I am registered with Revell and Bethany House.
Revell Reads – They offer a Blog Tour Program each month of new books being released. You receive a monthly email of the particular books on tour, along with the tour dates of when they prefer the review to be posted. You may choose more than one book in print or ebook. When you request a book you agree to post an original review (at least 75 words not including back cover copy and without a plot synopsis) on your blog as well as a retailer website such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Christian Book. You will also send your review via a link provided by the publisher.
Bethany House – You receive an email of the selected books for review. They only have a select number of books for review so you need to respond to the email quickly if you are interested in one. Only 1 title can be reviewed at a time. Post your review within 30 days of receiving the book on your blog and a retailer website, like Amazon. Also, submit via a link to the publisher.
BookLook Bloggers – They have a good selection of books to choose from on their website. You can request one book at a time. Your review is a minimum of 200 words and posted within 90 days of requesting the book.
To find others, I suggest going to the Publisher’s website and look or search for ‘blogging for books’ or ‘book reviews’ to find out more information. If you like to review books and do not have a blog you can post your reviews on Amazon even if you did not buy the book from them. Goodreads is also a great site for all things books.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to help. Otherwise, happy reading and writing!
On goodreads.com, authors will send you their books for free in exchange for a review. I loving doing book reviews.
Thanks for sharing that information Jen. I am also on Goodreads so I will look into that.
