The beauty of fall is all around us.
Pumpkin flavored everything.
Vibrant leaves of red, yellow and orange.
The trees are shedding, getting ready for winter.
Summer flowers are gone. You’ll see Mums galore.
Shorter days. Longer nights.
I love autumn. Living in Phoenix, I did not experience the four seasons. Traveling north, we would see the changes in the big, beautiful trees. But here, the colors are everywhere. Soon the trees will be bare. A whole new look to the landscapes around us.
I’ve been thinking of the many changes in life. Some on purpose, most not. I like change, in some things. We resist change. We fear change. But change is good, in some things.
The best change of my life was deciding to follow Jesus. At first I thought by following Him my life would be full of only good things and blessings from Him. I thought life would be easy, since I was a Christian. It didn’t take long to learn that wasn’t the case. You can tell I didn’t know the Bible very well.
Being a Christ Follower is not a ticket to a life of ease.
Father God truly loves us. He loves us too much to leave us living a life of sin. He helps us to change our bad behaviors and attitudes. He helps us “out with the old and in with the new.” Our hearts are changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.
The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Just as there is beauty in the seasons, there is beauty in the changes as a Christ follower as we allow the Holy Spirit do the work in our hearts.
How about you? Do you like change? What has been one of the biggest changes in your life?
