Where Can Hope be Found?

March 30, 2016 by Barbara

What does life look like when we have no hope? I probably don’t need to remind you if you’ve been there. Some of the ways I’ve experienced is living with fear, wanting to give up, apathy, depression and anger. It’s a sad place to be. I’d like to share today how I found hope.

The dictionary defines hope as “to want something to happen.”

The Holman Bible Dictionary defines it this way: Trustful expectation, particularly with reference to the fulfillment of God’s promises. Biblical hope is the anticipation of a favorable outcome under God’s guidance. More specifically, hope is the confidence that what God has done for us in the past guarantees our participation in what God will do in the future. The Bible bases its hope in God and His saving acts.

Christian hope is putting your trust in God because of His promises. Hebrews 6:19

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19

This is the Hope that rescued me many years ago. Friends, this Hope can rescue you too.

An anchor is used to keep a boat stabile in the water so it does not drift. The anchor is connected to the boat to hold it secure.

God is my Anchor. As long as I stay connected to Him, I am stabile and secure. With all that is troubling in the world, I can have security and feel safe. Otherwise, I’m tossed around by the storms of life. His words are Truth. We can have security, peace and stability in His Truth for us, as we trust in Jesus. My future is secure in Him. Is yours? Will you trust Him today?

Dear Heavenly Father, In a world with turmoil and bad news, we need an anchor for security and strength. You are a firm anchor for our hearts. Help us to trust You for our today and tomorrow’s. In Jesus Name. Amen

Welcome!

Hi Friend, Welcome to my corner of the online world, where I write to encourage and give hope. I believe everyone could use a dose of hope from time to time so whether you need hope for your marriage, your closet, or anything in between, I hope you find some encouragement here.

Having been through some hard situations, I understand what it's like to live hopeless, depressed, angry, and bitter until God rescued me in His Love and Grace. In Him, I found an Anchor to keep me safe and secure. My passion is to share how He has rescued me and give others encouragement, as He has for me.
