Dear Friends, Are you feeling hopeless today? Just watching the news can give us those ugly feelings of hopelessness. Or maybe you have circumstances going on in your own home that seem to be hopeless. Your heart is breaking. I want you to know, there is hope.
Maybe you tried to change the circumstances but your efforts didn’t work. It makes us hopeless. We do not want to continue trying.
I’ve been there too. It’s frustrating, depressing and makes you want to give up. In my case, it was when my husband and I were trying to conceive our baby. One of these days I’ll write our story in detail but for this post I want to share how I found Hope through my hopelessness.
We tried off and on for approximately 7 years to conceive. Through most of this time we were hopeful. But we were never able to have a child. I lived in Hopelessville for a long time. How could this happen to us? Why? As a woman, I thought I was created to be a mom and that was what I wanted to be. Adoption wasn’t an option for us. I stopped going to church and most social functions. When you’re living hopelessly, certain situations are unbearable, so it’s easier to avoid them.
It has been almost 20 years since we stopped all infertility treatments. I’m sad we never got to be parents, but it is no longer a hopeless feeling. Several years ago, God healed my emotions and taught me so much about His plan and purpose for my life.
Hope is waiting for you. I know God was with me even when I wasn’t with Him. He never turned his back on me. He was waiting for me to return to Him.
He longs for you to trust in Him and Hope in Him.
I’m reading When God Doesn’t Fix It by Laura Story and a quote I like is, “Am I going to let my circumstances determine my view of God, or am I going to let God determine how I view my circumstance?” I’ve tried both and letting God is the best way.
God is in control, friends. He doesn’t cause the bad to happen. He allows it yet He can bring good from any bad situation. Romans 8:28 says so. “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Do you love Him? Then trust He will work good out of your difficult marriage. Have you or a loved one recently received a terminal diagnosis? Yes, God can even show up with something good in a situation like this.
He loves you so much. He loves me more than I can comprehend. I don’t know why we never had children, after much praying, fasting, testing, medical procedures, prayer warriors praying for us. Today, I have much peace, contentment and Hope in Jesus. You too can have this Hope and Peace.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you so much for all the lessons you teach us to help us to trust you and believe you want only the best for us. Life is difficult as we face situations out of our control. We can easily become hopeless. Help us to keep our focus on you, our only Hope. We love you Lord. Please forgive our sins and help us to love others. In Jesus name, Amen
