Lysa’s books are always filled with honesty, truth, and love. She shares some of her own struggles and how she is learning to overcome them. Her own struggles include a father who abandoned her, breakups with the man she thought she’d marry, abortion, and friendship issues. She does not point a finger but comes alongside to help us heal from our hurts. Reading her words is like sitting in a coffee shop together, having girl time and sharing life.
Uninvited is a challenging book. The subject, rejection, is something everyone deals with, young and old. This book would certainly be for younger ladies to help them understand rejection and how to handle when they come. And for the older ladies, she helps us to be honest with the hurts of times we’ve been rejected and to face them and have a victorious life. Uninvited is filled with Scripture and would make a great Bible study. There are prayers in Chapter 14. In the Bonus Chapter, she unpacks Proverbs 4:23-27. Very interesting.
Chapter 11, Ten Things You Must Remember When Rejected, is worth buying the book for.
Scriptures are listed in the back, along with quotes Lysa doesn’t want us to forget.
I highly recommend this book for any girl, young or old. I think men could learn from it too.
