Today is the 2nd anniversary of our return to Ohio. Facebook has a ‘On This Day ‘ feature that has been reminding me lately of each day of our move. This move across country was definitely a ‘move of God’, and not one we planned.
The winters have been mild and the humidity tolerable. The biggest adjustment has been the bugs. So. Many. Bugs. These stink bugs are a nuisance. What purpose do they serve anyway?
Overall, we are grateful for our time here. Not sure where we are headed next, if anywhere. We always dreamed of living closer to a beach. Maybe we’ll be snowbirds and fly south for the winters eventually. We are praying about it and trusting God will continue to be faithful to guide us when the time comes.
I think learning to trust God is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in moving across country twice. Trusting Him is a lifetime lesson.
How do we learn to trust God?
Prayer is one way. Asking Him to help us trust and being confident He will guide us. Another way is reading the Bible. Read the stories of how God worked in people’s lives. Read about Daniel being protected from a lion. Or the 3 men not even touched by the fire. And sweet, young Mary, being told by an angel how her life was about to change. Do you think Mary trusted?
God had our move to AZ all planned long before it ever happened. And the same with moving back to OH.
You could never convince me otherwise that it was not God changing my heart about moving back and just how everything fell into place and in order.
He is a good, good Father and wants only the best for His children. We just need to trust him. It’s not easy because I want to be in control. You too?
Trust means reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person.
What does it mean to trust God?
One of my favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
- With all my heart, means completely.
- Lean not means not to depend on what I understand.
- Direct is to make straight, right, pleasing, good.
It is not easy and God knows that. He doesn’t expect perfection. The more we trust the easier it gets.
What do you need to trust Him with today? Please leave a comment or send me a message at Barbara@BarbaraAnnRepan.com I’d love to pray for you.
