Autumn beauty is in abundance

October 24, 2017 by Barbara

Autumn Beauty

Autumn beauty is all around us here in the hills of Ohio.

Autumn was never my favorite season until I moved to Ohio from Arizona. I forgot how pretty this time of year is with the oranges, reds and yellows in the trees. The cooler weather is nice too.

Did you know these colors are always present in the leaves?  In the Fall, leaves stop producing chlorophyll, causing the vibrant colors to shine.

Summer petunia’s have been replaced with colorful mums.

Shorts and tanks and bathing suits are nestled in the storage bins for the winter. No more wearing white, a tradition that starts with Labor Day.

Some fun facts about this time of year:

  • Our men like to cuddle more in the Fall.
  • Weight gain is likely to occur due to lack of Vitamin D from sunshine.
  • If your birthday is in the Fall, you may live to 100.
  • Catching leaves is good luck.

I saw this quote online and it has me thinking.

Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. (Unknown)

Think about it. What do you need to let go of? I need to daily let go of fearing the unknown. In this uncertain world, it’s easy to become fearful, especially when watching the news. I have no control over world events. I do have control of what controls me. I choose faith over fear.

Let it go.

It’s not easy to let go of bitterness, anger, judging others, negativity, jealousy, fears,  etc. It’s so much easier to hold on to these things.

Let it go.

And you probably can’t let go on your own. Jesus wants to help you. He longs for you to trust Him. By doing so, the ugly feelings will be released and you will feel freedom. From experience, I know this. I have much to be bitter about, jealous of and angry over. I choose not to be these things. You can to.

Let it go.

“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.” – C.S. Lewis.

Philippians 3:13-14 “Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.”

What do you need to let go? Find freedom by asking Jesus to help you let go of that thing.

I did not know how beautiful Fall was until I was in Springfield , MO! I only dreamed and read about!
In Texas you had green leaves in spring, then by July the leaves were crispy brown and in fall the dead brown leaves would fall off!😊
So happy to hear you are enjoying it!
As always Is enjoy reading your blog! God bless you, John and Lady! Happy Fall!

    Love Always,
    Carol Ann

Welcome!

Hi Friend, Welcome to my corner of the online world, where I write to encourage and give hope. I believe everyone could use a dose of hope from time to time so whether you need hope for your marriage, your closet, or anything in between, I hope you find some encouragement here.

Having been through some hard situations, I understand what it's like to live hopeless, depressed, angry, and bitter until God rescued me in His Love and Grace. In Him, I found an Anchor to keep me safe and secure. My passion is to share how He has rescued me and give others encouragement, as He has for me.
