I was reading Psalm 37 this morning, parked on verse 4 for several minutes. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
I looked up DELIGHT in the dictionary. It means something that gives great pleasure – extreme satisfaction.
We had the desire to have a child (years ago). Did we delight in the Lord then? I thought we were. Why did we not receive the desire of our heart?
I have more questions than answers about life, God, Bible Truths, Christian living.
Verse 5 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and he will act.”
We committed our desire to the Lord to have a child, therefore, I trust Him for the outcome. It’s not easy at the time and only years later, after growing in my faith, can I say I trust Him in this. He knows what is best for us.
For the Lord God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The Lord will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.
Psalm 84:11 New Living Translation
