{Book Review}

In When Life Doesn’t Match Your Dreams, Jill Eileen Smith writes from the lives of 12 women in the Bible. It’s a book of fiction and non-fiction combined.
One reason God gave us his words, The Bible, is so we can know Him. Through the lives of those in The Bible, we can learn so much. We can learn how God rescued them. We can learn how God had a purpose in many of the things we don’t understand. We can learn how God’s peace was present despite the difficulties. We learn just how much God loves us.
Each chapter begins with a fictional story of a woman in the Bible. Written with how it might have been for her. We often don’t stop to think about how Eve felt after she and Adam sinned. And what about Noah’s wife? How did she feel about Noah’s crazy idea to build an ark?
After the fiction account, we read In Our World, Imagine With Me, and Ponder This sections. Each section helps the reader to learn, reflect on and apply to her life.
I recommend this book to gals of all ages, Christian or non-Christian, who want to learn more about the issues the women in the Bible faced and how they can help women today.
