Is Your Soul Anchored?

July 8, 2021 by Barbara

Hebrews 6:19

What does it mean to have an anchored soul? Or maybe the question is, What is our soul anchored in? Finances? Job or career? Spouse? In other words, what is keeping you steady? What or who are you looking to for security?

As Christians, our hope is in salvation because of Jesus Christ. He is our hope, our anchor, our security. Our soul is anchored in Him, by faith.

How do we anchor our soul in Jesus?

⚓️ Read and believe the Bible. Gods words to us are filled with hope of His promises. He is faithful.

⚓️Ask Father God to give you strength in the hard times.

⚓️Trust Him. ” We won’t struggle so much with the pain of trials if we trust God to always take us toward His good in our lives.” Ruth Chou Simons, in Gracelaced

⚓️Listen to songs of hope. A few of my favorites are: Living Hope by Phil Wickham, Anchor by Skillet, Anchor of Hope by Ellie Holcomb, Hope Lives by Beckah Shae

These are just a few ways to build our faith. Keep the focus on Jesus. When my focus is off, I begin to sink with worry, depression, fear. Father God doesn’t promise us the life of ease but He does promise to never leave us or forsake us. See Hebrews 13:5

Dear Heavenly Father, Help me trust you and believe that you are an anchor in the storms of life. I want my security to be only in You. Thank you for loving me and never leaving me. In Jesus Name, Amen

Welcome!

Hi Friend, Welcome to my corner of the online world, where I write to encourage and give hope. I believe everyone could use a dose of hope from time to time so whether you need hope for your marriage, your closet, or anything in between, I hope you find some encouragement here.

Having been through some hard situations, I understand what it's like to live hopeless, depressed, angry, and bitter until God rescued me in His Love and Grace. In Him, I found an Anchor to keep me safe and secure. My passion is to share how He has rescued me and give others encouragement, as He has for me.
