Hi, I’m Barbara Ann, and welcome to my online home. I’m so glad you are here!
Imagine sitting on a beautiful sandy beach, looking out at the waves as they wash up on the shore. The sun is shining, not too hot, just enough to give you a sun-kissed glow on your skin. You watch the seagulls swooping down to grab a fish. Little children are playing nearby, working excitedly with their shovels to build a big sandcastle. Life is good.
Then back to reality and sometimes a hard reality.
Are you in a situation that you just don’t see any hope? Maybe your marriage is crumbling or you had yet another miscarriage. On a lighter note, maybe you just need hope for your unorganized, messy closets. Hope for weight loss? Hope for kid challenges? Hope for balancing it all? The list goes on and on.
My passion is to encourage and give hope with life-giving words.
Some days hopelessness can be overwhelming. I’ve been a hopeless mess in dealing with infertility, cancer, and marital separation, to name a few. I occasionally have moments of sadness being childless. Though I’ve been cancer-free for many years, thoughts of its return try to consume me. The “what if’s” are real in my life. I would love to say after 30+ years of marriage, John and I were living ‘happily ever after’. We are happy but we also still argue, usually about the dumbest things.
Life is not easy, but there is Hope.
God’s Grace is true and real and in Him, I find my Hope.
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Hebrews 6:19 NLT
Why I write
Journaling has been a way of therapy when going through hard times. Several years ago I became interested in starting a blog, did some research, and joined Compel Training with Proverbs 31 Ministry. I discovered I enjoy writing and wanted to learn more about the craft. I believe we can help others by sharing what we have experienced.
This verse is why I share what I have gone through.
“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.” 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5 MSG
